Thanks for joining me!
Crossing cultures is one of the most beautiful invitations life offers, but it must be done with care and humility.
The Kenbe Project was born from a simple truth:
Good intentions aren’t enough. True connection comes through respect, patience, and honor.
“Kenbe” means to hold on in Haitian Creole.
Just like the tree planted by streams of water in Jeremiah 17:7–8, we are called to hold on and to stay rooted in trust, humility, and love even when the unfamiliar feels like a desert around us.
This project exists to equip you to cross cultures thoughtfully:
To listen before speaking.
To honor before acting.
To thrive in new places without losing the heart of what matters most.
You don’t have to be perfect to build bridges.
You simply have to come willing. Willing to learn, to love, and to hold on.
Let’s walk into the world with respect, strength, and faith.
Shauna Thompson
Founder of The Kenbe Project
At The Kenbe Project, we help people connect across cultures with confidence, care, and curiosity. Through stories, tools, and training, we promote cultural respect and inspire meaningful global connection, aiming to equip individuals and organizations to thrive in diverse environments.
We dream of a world where cultural borders become bridges. Where respect runs deeper than difference, cultures are celebrated with honor, and connection is stronger than fear. Through humility, courage, and love, we believe every boundary can become an invitation to unity.
